As an Author, graduate of Emory University with a degree in English Literature, and former freelance journalist, I have much experience analyzing manuscripts and literature, with a focus on prose and storytelling. Should we work together, I promise to treat your work with respect and compassion, provide specific and actionable feedback to take your manuscript to the next level, and provide whatever support and guidance I can as you embark on your next steps as a writer.
I offer two packages, detailed below. You'll notice that my rates are very competitive. For transparency, I am new to professional manuscript editing, therefore, my rates reflect my desire to attract new clients and to build a strong referral base. However, I have strong conviction in my ability to do the work. I revised my own manuscript for my debut Wildwood more times than I can possibly remember, always with a critical eye. As a result, Wildwood, the first manuscript I ever wrote, was the one to land me an agent and, after just two weeks on submission, a two-book deal with Harper Collins. I've since completed three other manuscripts, in the genres of character-drive mystery, dark academia, and horror. In other words, I'm a writing workhorse, with proven results, and I'd love to work with you!
Package 1: Full MS Read and Editorial Analysis
What's included:
- 4-5 double-spaced page editorial analysis of your manuscript, focused on both strength and growth opportunities in the areas of plotting, structure, character development, setting, pace, and prose. Additionally, I will consider any specific questions you wish me to read for
- A phone call or Zoom consultation (up to 60 minutes) to discuss editorial analysis and address any questions
Cost: $750 up to 80,000 words, $40 for every additional 10,000 words
Package 2: Full MS Read with Editorial Analysis and in-line comments
What's included:
- 4-5 double-spaced page editorial analysis of your manuscript, focused on both strength and growth opportunities in the areas of plotting, structure, character development, setting, pace, and prose
- Comments throughout your manuscript offering specific feedback/suggestions related to the areas of plotting, structure, character development, setting, pace, prose, dialogue, and consistency
- A phone call or Zoom consultation (up to 60 minutes) to discuss editorial analysis and address any questions
Cost: $1000 up to 80,000 words, $75 for every additional 10,000 words
